Ray Parker (1922 - 1990) was an American abstract expressionist painter who was an influential figure in the Color Field Post-Painterly Abstraction movements. Like many artists of the time, he was highly influenced by Jazz, which combined with his interest in abstract expressionism, led to his improvised painting style and ability to express emotion through simple forms and colors.
